Movie Review for: Cloverfield

May 01st, 2008 | Category: Movie Reviews

Do you look forward to Thursday nights for new episodes of ‘Lost’? Are you in the mood for a good monster movie? Then Cloverfield is your answer the movie rental dilemma of the night.

The producers who bring you the series ‘Lost’ break from the small screen to bring you a decent thriller movie. Sprinkled with a dash of drama you have come to expect from ‘Lost’, Cloverfield has enough action to keep you interested.

Similar to The Blair Witch Project, Cloverfield is the film retrieved from a hand held camera in Central Park. Cloverfield begins as documenting a going away party when something very large and very angry attacks Manhattan.

The movie documents survivors tying to stay alive and find out what exactly is tearing the city apart. Cloverfield is good enough to keep you interested to the end. But the first person shooter point of view may make you want to take some Dramamine before pushing ‘play’.

If the rumors are true, I will be optimistic about a sequel.
